I don’t know where to begin or how to start this review… I have to admit, I was uber anxious to try these lipsticks when they first launched about a month ago. Keep reading to see swatches and my honest thoughts about these Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks.
WHAT IS IT? The Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks are a luxury lipstick that delivers intense color payoff plus creamy shine (source). It’s what they call, “creamy, badass luxury.” They are formulated to be creamy, long-lasting, hydrating and nourishing. The colors I’m reviewing today is 69, a bright red with pink undertone and Fiend, a muted rose.
PRICE: $22 USD (0.09oz)
AVAILABILITY: Available in 20 shades at Ulta and Sephora. Available in 22 shades online at urbandecay.com (shades exclusive to Urban Decay website are Protest and Strip).
PIGMENTATION: The pigmentation of these lipsticks are incredible. They are true to the color of the lipstick tube. The pigmentation is as it states online at Urbandecay.com, “Just one swipe gives you a BIG, gorgeous laydown of color.”
TEXTURE: I love how these lipsticks glide onto my lips without tugging or pulling on my lips. It’s not the creamiest in texture that I’ve felt in a lipstick but it does feel nice and creamy (like butter) on my lips. There is a blend of nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter that help moisturize and soften the lips when applied which is why my lips didn’t feel dry or chapped throughout the day.
APPLICATION: Easy to apply. When applied, these lipsticks do not skip or look feathered. As I used them for review purposes, I noticed that these lipsticks do not need lip liners to keep the color in place; they are great worn alone.
PACKAGING: Do I really need to say how I feel about the packaging? Gosh, it’s gorgeous! The gunmetal tube makes the lipstick look so luxurious, sleek and as Urban Decay calls it, “badass!” I’m a sucker for packaging and I would love to have the entire collection for the looks of the lipsticks itself.
LASTING POWER: I’m not exaggerating when I say that the color lasts all day! When I wear these lipsticks to work, I never really need to re-apply them unless I’ve eaten or wiped my lips. I wouldn’t say that it stains my lips but the pigmentation of these lipsticks are insane to wear the lipstick color stays on all day. Take note that these lipsticks do transfer if you drink from a cup or kiss someone. Just a side note: When I swatched these Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks on my arm for this review, it was hard to remove. So imagine the lasting power on the lips…
